My Trip to Kansas

I just recently returned from a trip to Kansas where I visited my sister Kristin (that is me and her above). She took me out to the power and light district in Kansas City where we spent many hours listening to the the dueling pianos at Howl at the Moon bar.

I got to meet my sister's new puppy Mac for the first time (he's the black one). I met Mogli at Christmas.

Mac is sooo tiny - that's my hand next to him - he is probably only about 3 pounds.
Hi there Mac! (I want one of my own... my next birthday present Andy?)

One of the days I took a trip down the road to the University of Kansas (where I got my undergraduate degree) and walked down memory lane. I was a member of the rowing team for 4 years - I am in the above picture - can you find me?

Good memories... KU just built a beautiful boathouse that I got to see as well. Wish we would have had that when I was there (all we had was a fence!)

Dinner guests

Andy and Kennedy

Tonight my co-worker Misty and her husband Joe came over for dinner and brough their 6 week old baby girl, Kennedy. After I kept pushing him to hold her, Andy finally broke down and actually enjoyed it. Maybe we might even get to babysit sometime - it is always good to get some daddy practice in since you never know what the future may hold...

13.1

Today Andy completed his first half-marathon which is 13.1 miles. He completed it in just over 2 hours (still waiting on the official time) and he didn't even train for it. I did the 5k (3.1) and made it just under 30 minutes.

2 Months To Go and Our Florida Trip

2 months until the wedding - yeah! Andy and I just got back from a road trip to Florida for a conference I was going to that happened to coincide with his spring break so we went a couple of days early to spend some time in Pensacola. The water was gorgeous and the sand was almost white. We spent 2 days in the sun and then headed for Panama Beach City where the SEATA Conference was being held. While I was indoors listening to lecturers, Andy was outside poolside with a cold beverage in his hand... what a hard life he has! We didn't want to leave when Sunday came.

American Gladiator's Phoenix

PHOENIX!
So the other day I was working out at the Rush and noticed a flyer for a group coming that weekend featuring Jen Widerstrom, also known as AG's Phoenix. I happened to have a teammate at Kansas by the same name back in the day and low and behold - it is her! Unfortunately I was out of town in Florida for a conference and couldn't stop by to say hello but wish her the best - Way to go Jen!
